My apartment is happy and fun so the living environment of my parakeets has to be happy and fun too!

One day I looked at one of my lampshades and immediately decided to take it apart, just ripped the material right off the frame..I didn't even hesitate! 

 I had a VISION!!!!!

 I was SURE that if I weaved sticks in and out of a lampshade, my parakeets would be dying to climb on it!

 Tweetopolis was all over it as soon as I put it near their cage...The pieces of branches are curly willow that hasn't been sprayed with insecticide so it is safe if they want to chew on it. 

Lemondrop did climb it also but I wasn't able to capture a photo of that moment.

 This IS really pretty cool isn't it?

You won't believe it...but not long after I made this, I looked at it and thought..."I could do better..." and I took it apart! 

Nooooooooooooo - it was so cute!

Sometimes I catch Tweetopolis and LemonDrop at just the right times....

 On this day I happened to walk by when Lemondrop was asking Tweetopolis to come up to his place for a drink.

 Tweetopolis and LemonDrop talked for a long time on the stoop.

 LemonDrop looked Tweetopolis right in the eye as they chatted...

and then...

I felt it was my place to leave.

How do birds handle being on edge?

On those days when I notice that my bird, Tweetopolis, is acting quite put out about something, I immediately bring out the 'Parakeet 'Anti-Stressor' I got on Amazon.com!  This revolutionary new bird anti-stressor is shaped like a dinosaur!  Tweetopolis LOVES it!  All you gotta do is get your bird to latch his leg around the neck of the dinosaur and SQUEEZE!

As you can see above, my lovely Tweetopolis has succumbed to total calmness.

Fiesta Ware Addiction...

Some days Tweetopolis patrols our apartment; Recently I caught him clinging to my Fiesta cupboard...he SAYS to me that he's 'checking' on the safety of my Fiesta dishes ... but I KNOW he's actually looking for dead bugs...

...he knows I never dust or clear cobwebs.

he continues to mock me...  

This is me telling Tweetopolis to GET OFF OF THE CURTAIN ROD - YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE UP THERE!!!!  And this is Tweetopolis looking down at me clearly NOT concerned in the LEAST with what I'm telling him right now...

Meet Tweetopolis and Lemondrop ...

Meet LemonDrop & Tweetopolis.  Tweet came from a bird-only pet store and Lemon came from the Humane Society.

  On the left is LemonDrop and on the right is Tweetopolis.

They look absolutely spectacular with my choice of decor don't you think?
